Inserting items into a table

Dr. Explain allows you to fill table cells by pasting.

You can insert fragments of another table, text, blocks of text and other objects.

Insertion into the table (single cell) is done by selecting the most appropriate method:
  • replacing values in the table;
  • inserting a new row;
  • inserting a new column;
  • inserting a new table.

To implement pasting, you must first of all copy the object.

There are several ways of copying when working with tables:
  • copying a cell;
  • copying several cells;
  • copying the whole table;
  • copying text from a cell without selecting it.

In the case when text is copied from a cell without selecting it, then paste is available only in the cell without selecting it and occurs without any formatting of the cell or instead of the whole table.

When copying one or more cells or the whole table as an object, when pasting is done into a cell without selection or into a table that is selected as an object, then all the above paste methods are available, in any other paste method, the new table paste method is not available.

When copying and pasting data from tables, not only the text in the same style is transferred to the new location, but also the cell or cells properties are transferred, in particular: background, border parameters, border colour.

In addition, when inserting objects or text into a table, only one cell can be inserted.

The insertion can be realized using the Ctrl+V key combination or using the context menu - Insert item. In addition, in the context menu you can use the Special insertion item and choose the appropriate method yourself:
