Captions of images and tables

 
In this dialog window, you can customize the caption styles of numbered images and tables.
 
To change the caption styles of numbered images or tables, use one of the ways described below::
  • go to the Options menu and select the Project settings menu option;
  • or click the button in the application toolbar.
    Then go to Content editor / Captions and numbering.
     
    You can also click the arrow to the left of the caption and select Edit caption styles...:

Import settings

Use this list to select a style you wish to customize.

Add or Remove style

Add your own style to the list or delete an existing one.

Use to sort styles in alphabetical order or in reverse alphabetical order.

Name field

Name of the caption style.

Select a type of objects this caption style can be applied to.
Caption style can be applied to two types of numbered objects: Figures and Tables.

Change the beginning of a caption.

Add topic number

Activate the ability to add topic number in captions.
In the image below, the option is activated, and the caption displays the number of the topic (2.1), which is separated from the serial number (1) by the symbol "—" (long dash)

Hide delimiter at the end of the topic number

Hide delimiter.
Activated when the option Add topic number is enabled.
The image below demonstrates a caption text when "Hide delimiter at the end of the topic number" checkbox is not set and a topic number has a delimiter "." (dot).

Topic and object number separator

Use the symbol "-" (dash) by default or replace it with another.
Activated when Add topic number is enabled.
In the image below, '|' (vertical bar) is selected as a separator.

Numbering

Change numbering.
The numbering of an image or a table displays the ordinal number of an object. By default, Continuous numbering is selected this is the numbering of objects in order, sequentially, incrementally without gaps, not affected by topic's level.

The default numbering type is Arabic numerals.

Use the default symbol or replace it with another.

Caption position

Text in front of the number

The default text in a cross-reference. You can change default text for each cross-reference in its properties.

Press the button to accept all changes and close the dialog.

Press the button to close the dialog and to discard the changes.

Press the button to show the context help page.

The caption in the created style Drawing:
 
 
You can apply the Drawing caption style to all documentation drawings.
When you change the settings of a style, they will be automatically applied to all captions that have this style.
